=========================================================

Video marketing is the new card in my deck.   I’m still new at it, and the more I practice, the better I’m getting.  I’ve been marketing the band for many years now, with public appearances, ads, brochures, business cards, letters and postcards, my website and blog, attending networking events, and participating in professional associations.  It’s a long list.  You name it, I’ve probably done it.

Now with YouTube’s recent explosive growth, videos have become easy to create and distribute.  Many of the best are attractive and entertaining, informative and persuasive.  And I’m getting involved as quickly as I can.

My video marketing sends a refreshing reminder to people I already know, and presents a personal introduction to people I haven’t met yet.  For an example, watch this video:

I recently wrote about video blogging and creating customer video testimonials.  Throughout my blog, you’ll see many little videos introducing my recent posts.  I also post them on social media channels to keep in touch with my Facebook Friends, Twitter Followers, and LinkedIn Connections, and these people can share the videos with THEIR friends.

In addition, I can link to these videos in my emails and embed them in my eNewsletter.  In the future, I might create a series of video podcasts.  For now, my videos’ messages are always (hopefully) bright, interesting, informative, and give the impression that here’s a fellow who knows what he’s doing and he does an outstanding job.

Robbie Schlosser in a recent videoA few practical tips:  As you see in this recent video, I try to maintain eye contact as though I’m sitting here having a conversation with you.  I rehearse my message once or twice, to get the general outline in my head, and then I turn on the camera and talk naturally (no script!).  Hopefully, you’ll get an accurate impression of the kind of person I am, and you’ll feel eager to work with me, one way or another.

Finally, I keep these videos short and sweet, and try to make just one or two points.  I don’t look like Paul Newman, so I doubt that even my mother would watch me talk for more than 3 minutes.

Bottom line:  Using a video marketing strategy, especially in my blog and the popular social media, is easy and effective.  How can YOU use videos to help whatever YOU work on?
