Selecting San Jose wedding music ought to be fun and exciting.
Struggling with your choices?
Use your imagination. Have fun with it. Be creative.
I offer many tips for choosing music (for example, for a wedding ceremony and for a holiday party). Let me describe one of my all-time favorite tips.
First, a quick story.
Here I am, standing behind the bride and groom at their wedding reception. Gary, on clarinet and Andy, on guitar, are seated to my left. We just entertained the wedding guests with an hour of elegant, upbeat background music during their cocktail party.
I’d been playing my string bass, and now I switched to my cornet. With a couple of lively toots, we launched into “The Second Line”. Now the room was transformed to a wild New Orleans street parade for a few exciting minutes. What a celebration!
Then it’s back to the dinner party music.
Thanks to Portrait by Tony for these wonderful photos. You captured that memorable time so well! And congratulations, Marian and Mark!
What’s this all about? Easy. The bride hails from New Orleans, and she included some of her favorite music in her wedding reception.
This is an example YOU can follow. Whether you’re planning San Jose wedding music or San Francisco Great Gatsby dinner music or Palo Alto cocktail party music.
It’s simple. Select a city or state that has special meaning (like where you’re from, where you now live, or where the company headquarters are). Select a song about that place and create a festive “happening” around that song.
Met your spouse in New York City? Sing “New York, New York”.
Grew up in Tennessee? Have everyone dance to the “Tennessee Waltz”.
Love going to Disneyland? Dress your wedding party as characters in your favorite Disney movie, and have them sing a hit from the film.
Of course, you might be a proud newcomer to San Jose. Feature a dazzling video accompanied by “Do You Know the Way to San Jose?”.
Got any more suggestions? Or can you customize one of these examples?
So here’s the tip. Focus on a state, city, or location significant to you. This tip will open up exciting choices for selecting San Jose wedding music.
