Wedding Ceremony Planning is one of the happy couple’s best opportunities to personalize their celebration.

If you’re the bride or groom planning a wedding ceremony, you can treat your guests to an event that’s uniquely YOU, and make your wedding truly memorable.

Magnolia Jazz Band in Napa 2010

For example, here is the Magnolia Jazz Band (in the photo’s lower left corner) entertaining people at an elegant wedding on a beautiful afternoon in Napa.  The bride is a great fan of broadway shows, so we included a dozen of her favorite songs throughout her ceremony. Thanks for your wonderful photo, Coco and Tim Martin.

You can enhance several traditional landmarks in your ceremony with music to reflect your favorite styles, as well as particular songs and traditions you especially love.  Consider selecting music for these highlights:

•  Setting the mood as your guests arrive.
•  Accompanying the entrance of the officiant, groom, and groomsmen
•  Accompanying the entrance of the wedding party:  parents, bridesmaids, maid of honor, flower girl
•  The bride’s Processional, as you walk down the aisle
•  A special selection during the ceremony.
•  The happy couple’s Recessional, as you greet your guests as husband and wife.
•  Setting the mood at your festive cocktail party, luncheon, or dinner afterwards.

Of course, the wedding ceremony is not your only opportunity to add personal musical touches.  You have the first dance, dance with your parents, cutting your cake, tossing your garter, selecting dance music for everyone, the “last dance”, and any additional feature you’d like to add.

I recently wrote about planning wedding music, and the process is easier than you might think.

Here’s a great way to begin:  Review all your favorite music and include as many of these songs as you like.  Everything is available for you, ranging from the traditional classical selections to today’s popular tunes.

“What’s in YOUR iPod?”

Bottom line:  Every bride and groom can personalize their wedding in several ways, and one of the best is in planning wedding ceremony music.

Today’s wedding planner has so many opportunities to make the day unique for the bride and groom’s memory. Music is usually a highlight of the event, so incorporating jazz into the jazz-lovers day is an awesome idea. Very cool, indeed.
